A Look at SOAR’s Business Operations

Volato is an aviation technology company offering private flight access and proprietary software solutions for aviation and enterprise applications. Founded in 2021, the company historically operated aircraft ownership, charter and management services before shifting toward technology-driven operations. Its primary revenue-generating platform, Vaunt, provides subscription-based access to private empty-leg flights, helping operators monetize unused flight capacity. Vaunt recorded more than 190,000 app downloads and completed 1,145 flights in 2025.

Mission Control, its cloud-based aviation management platform, streamlines flight scheduling, crew management, customer communications and operational analytics. Parslee, launched in September 2025, provides AI-powered enterprise workflow automation and document intelligence through Microsoft 365 integrations. The company also transitioned aircraft fleet operations to flyExclusive and is pursuing a merger with M2i Global to expand into critical minerals supply-chain technology.

Volato’s Key Tailwinds

Volato's completed September 2026 merger with Alignment Engine provides a major growth opportunity in AI infrastructure. Its Ohio campus has 154 MW of power available, with a roadmap to 480 MW, while power, water and water-treatment systems are already operational. This existing utility base allows development to focus on equipment installation and compute deployment. Phased expansion could help the company capitalize on demand for AI training, inference and high-performance computing.

In September 2026, Alignment Engine secured two four-year, take-or-pay orders worth approximately $1.2 billion from a large AI customer. The agreements include approximately $133 million in contractual prepayments, supporting infrastructure development. The first deployment, using AMD MI355X GPUs, has a contractual start date of Dec. 31, 2026, followed by MI455X GPUs on June 30, 2027. These commitments provide revenue visibility and support capacity expansion aligned with customer demand.

Volato's October 2026 agreement for an equity facility of up to $1 billion strengthens its potential funding options for AI infrastructure expansion. The company retains discretion over the timing and size of share sales, subject to regulatory and trading restrictions. Proceeds could support the Ohio campus and additional industrial sites under evaluation in the United States and internationally. Combined with customer prepayments, this facility could facilitate phased infrastructure development and long-term capacity growth.

Volato's aviation software businesses offer additional growth opportunities alongside AI infrastructure. Vaunt reported approximately $4.7 million in annual recurring revenue and more than 2,700 paid members as of June 30, 2026, followed by its first international member flight in July. Additionally, Volato AI launched commercially in August 2026 with Flyte as its inaugural enterprise customer. Its aviation-specific automation capabilities could expand software adoption and support recurring revenue growth.

Challenges Persist for SOAR’s Business

Volato incurred a net loss of $4.7 million in the first six months of 2026 and an accumulated deficit of $105.5 million as of June 30, 2026, raising substantial doubt about its ability to continue as a going concern. Its reliance on external financing to sustain operations creates funding uncertainty. Furthermore, the termination of the proposed M2i merger in June 2026 eliminated a potential strategic growth avenue. Volato also faces litigation involving vendors, customers and former employees, potentially increasing legal expenses. Meanwhile, its relatively nascent software operations must generate sufficient recurring revenues to offset operating expenses and support long-term profitability.

Volato’s Valuation

The company is cheaply priced compared with the industry average. Currently, SOAR is trading at 0.3X trailing 12-month price/sales value, below the industry’s average of 0.52X. However, the metric remains higher than one of the company’s peers, Air Canada (0.26X), but remains lower than that of Frontier Group (0.31X).

Conclusion

Despite persistent losses, litigation risks and profitability challenges, Volato’s expanding AI infrastructure capabilities, substantial customer commitments, potential financing support and growing aviation software businesses provide opportunities for long-term growth.

Strong fundamentals, coupled with SOAR’s undervaluation, present a lucrative opportunity for investors to add the stock to their portfolio.
